Kino is operated by Krownlabs LLC. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use the Kino mobile application.
1. Introduction
Kino is a service operated by Krownlabs LLC ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Kino mobile application (the "App").
By using Kino, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, username, and profile photo.
User-Generated Content: We collect photos and short video clips you capture through the App, as well as comments and reactions you post.
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the App, including access times, features used, and device identifiers.
Device Information: We collect information about your device, including device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
Communications: We store messages and notifications sent through the App.
Location: We do not collect precise location data. We may infer general region from your IP address for analytics purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Create and manage your account
• Process and deliver your video recaps
• Enable social features (friends, comments, likes)
• Send push notifications you have consented to
• Respond to your requests and support inquiries
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents

• Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Lawful Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Contract: Processing necessary to provide the App services you have agreed to use.
Legitimate Interests: Processing for analytics, security, and product improvement, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Other Users: Your profile (name, username, profile photo) and the content you post is visible to your approved friends within the App.
Service Providers: We use third-party providers to operate our infrastructure (cloud storage, video processing, push notifications). These providers are contractually bound to handle data only on our behalf.
Business Transfers: If Kino is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
Video content and associated metadata are deleted upon account deletion.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
Portability: Request transfer of your data in a machine-readable format.

Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell your personal information. If this changes, we will provide an opt-out mechanism.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@getkino.app and we will delete such information promptly.
Users between 13 and 18 should use the App only with parental consent.
10. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from your jurisdiction.
Where we transfer data from the EEA to third countries, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect data:
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — for push notifications
• Cloud storage and CDN providers — for video and image storage
These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the App or by email.
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
